Children's Ministry

We endeavour to make Chelmsford Community Church, a welcoming place for all ages.  With that in mind, we run  sessions, for children and young people and as our children grow, they also have the opportunity to attend a youth weekend away.

"Encounter"
Every Sunday - unless a service is planned as an "All-Age Service" - we encourage our younger attendees to join us in "Encounter".  "Encounter" runs during the service which begins at 10:30am; We organise our services so that everyone is together for the first part of the service. We will then invite the young people to head out to the rooms where we hold "Encounter", while the rest of the congregation have their "Encounter" (the sermon!).

We use games and crafts, music and videos and introduce them to Jesus along the way.  All of our leaders, for all groups, are appointed by interview, receive safeguarding training and have DBS (formerly known as CRB) clearance.   Any visiting children and young people are welcome to join us - even if you are only staying for a week.

All-Age Services

Every now and again - particularly at key festivals such as Christmas and Easter - we give "Encounter" a break and have a whole service with everyone together.  This is usually a shorter service, typically involving some gentle audience participation (nothing embarrassing!) and quite often involves prizes of a sweet nature...
