New to Church?
Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life - we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about Chelmsford Community Church.
Some key information about the church...
Chelmsford Community Church meets every Sunday at 9.30am and then again at 11:15am for our Sunday Services. We serve refreshments between the two services - from about 10:40am. Please note that there is limited parking for disabled visitors only on the premises.
We meet at:
Trent Road Centre,
You can see a map on our contact us page.
You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. There will be approximately 20 mins of singing with opportunity for church members to pray or read a passage from the bible.
We try to avoid too many notices, so after the worship there will be a preach from one of the leaders at Chelmsford Community Church - sometimes with a chance to respond at the end of the service. We usually have a chance for more singing after the preach and we aim to finish our first service by about 10:40am and our second service by about 12:30pm.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are served between our two morning services, from approximately 10:40am so there is time to meet new people and ask more questions before the second service starts.
Chelmsford Community Church was born out of the house-church movement, around 40 years ago. As time has gone by, there have been many changes to the way we do things.
We are not governed by any other organisation, but we are affiliated to Ground Level. The leadership team have total responsibility for how the church operates, although much advice is taken before decisions are made. We have excellent relationships with many of the other Pastors in Chelmsford, India and the Ukraine.
We have a fantastic programme - run during our 11:15am service - for the children and young people at Chelmsford Community Church. Children stay with their parents for the first part of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together. Someone will announce when the children need to go to their programme.
If you are planning to come, you are of course free to keep your children with you for the entire service - it doesn't matter if they make a bit of noise, as long as they don't run completely riot!
For more information about what happens in the children's work please look at the childrens work and youth pages.
No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.
Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you. Don't feel under any pressure to get involved in anything that is happening.
Of course it is. You can sneak in at the back at anytime. If you have children with you (and you want to), please drop them off at the various clubs! If it's your first time, ask one of the welcome team on the door where to go!
Please feel free to contact us.
